New South Wales: Armonds Beach

This has to be the prettiest nudist beach in Australia. Set in a bay it is just pleasant to sit back and watching the surf roll in. Frequently you will see dolphins riding the waves just off shore. The beach backdrop is an Australian bush setting. This is one beach that has to be seen to be believed. Like the Trevi Fountain, you will want to go back for another visit. It’s a must for anyone travelling between Sydney and Melbourne along the Princes Highway. No facilities. Access: The beach is situated 3 kilometres south of Cuttagee Beach. The entrance is from Kullaroo Drive. It takes about 10 minutes from the car park to reach the beach. There is a well maintained track to the beach.

New South Wales: Belongil Beach

Belongil Beach, Byron Bay is up the north coast of New South Wales, close to the Queensland border. A few years ago a whole lot of ‘new age’ / alternate life style / hippy type people decided to go and live there. This has changed this rather conservative seaside resort a lot. Belongil Beach has only recently become clothing optional. The Byron City Council has sanctioned the northern end of Belongil Beach, at Byron Bay for nude bathing. Bob Reed, President of the Free Beach Association of NSW, optimistically believes that more beaches in that area may become clothes optional and that Byron Bay could become the Cap d’Agde of Australia, although at the moment Samurai Beach, at Anna Bay is leading that race.
